Opening day for the Cannabis market sooner than you think.

The state of New Jersey is on its way to an open weed market. March 16th represents a significant date for the cannabis market in the state. The previous public meeting left an implication that the market would be opening very soon.

Steps still needed

New Jersey must give a date by which sales may begin in the state. Although the date has not been provided, leaving the question for when still in the air.

However, even Phil Murphy says he expects that it will open within the next two weeks.

The next steps in this process begin with Jeff Brown, who is responsible for reviewing applications for Treatment centers. The applications for five out of eight have already been reviewed, according to Brown. There have been five new standards for patient access and supply under the new law. Brown explains that even with an abundance of applications, he plans to “beat the 90-day mark”.

Previous issues that prolonged the open market in the first place included issues within alternative treatment center applications. This led to delays, and setbacks which Brown explains are no longer an issue. Due to this, the market will open as soon as possible, with applications being screened and accepted.
