New Jersey Officially Legalized Marijuana Bill: Here’s What to Expect

After 3 years in office, Governor Phil Murphy finally signed and approved the Bill to Legalize Marijuana. Here’s what we know so far!

Where can you Purchase Medical Marijuana Legally?

There are currently already 13 Medical Marijuana Dispensaries operating in New Jersey. Once these dispensaries can prove they have enough inventory. There will be enough to supply both Medical and Recreational patients, and they will be able to sell to adults 21+.

When Can You Purchase Marijuana Legally?

While Governor Phil Murphy claims to expect new dispensaries to begin opening as early as Spring 2021. He still has to finish completing the Cannabis Regulatory Commission. Once this is in place, they have an additional 6 months to complete there set of Rules and Guidelines.

Changes After Bill Signed

While you may still not be able to purchase from a dispensary. There is still a restriction on law enforcement’s ability to arrest or charge individuals who possess personal amounts (up to 6oz) of marijuana. You won’t only be immune to arrest now, but any prior marijuana-related charges should also be dropped.
